Brian Hall, Blacksmith
I began blacksmithing in 1989 at the Mystic Seaport Museum where I was able to combine my interests in handcraft and cultural history. Since that time I have increased my knowledge and skill level through workshops and apprenticeships with some of New England's most respected artistic ironworkers.
I am inspired by the natural and man-made beauty of the North Quabbin Region of Massachusetts -- my current artistic interests include organizing bars with rather simple details into complex arrangements. These works, while at first appearing chaotic, are coherently organized with each bar responding to its neighbors while retaining its own unique identity.
I enjoy artistic work as well as custom projects where I use my designing and hammering skills to help clients create unique and beautiful ironwork for their homes. I work in a wide variety of traditional and contemporary styles, some of which are not shown on this website. Please contact me if you are interested in a custom order, large or small.
